Vision Statement

Sanctity

Parents who desire to instill in their children the values and principles of the Christian faith, which sets the Christian apart,  should have the opportunity to provide that same environment and structure while allowing their children to interface with the current culture. Sports are a big part of the culture of today, and being competent in a competitive environment builds the confidence in Christian children to interact boldly. A Christian sports program should point to the Lord’s sovereign nature, and man’s responsibility to be a good steward  of his talents . We desire to teach children to be thankful in games won and  to work to excel when games are lost. The Counselors model  that the children should regard opponents as testers of our competitive focus, and not as enemies.

Pleasing to the Lord

We seek to teach these young athletes that we please the Lord by our reliance upon His Life and His principles in the trials we face. Games and practices are often charged with emotion. Therefore, we are to instruct and teach how to align the mind and heart with God’s truth in order to act by faith and not by fear and weakness. We desire our words, actions and attitudes be pleasing to the Lord. Jackson Counselors Homeschool Sports provides an excellent opportunity for teaching adversity preparedness. We desire to teach the children through  low stakes sports the life skills for coping and excelling  in high stakes trials and adversities they will face.

Harmony in the Body of Christ

How wonderful and pleasant it is for brothers to live together in harmony. I believe we must seek harmony within the Body of Christ in order for us to be more useful members. Harmony does not come about without effort, so we should be constantly looking for ways  to be helpful and  take burdens from each other as led by the Holy Spirit. We should encourage and faithfully direct our actions towards the health and well-being of the Body of Christ. When that unity is achieved, it is as the dew from Mt. Hermon coming down on the mountains of Zion, or the consecrating oil dripping down Aaron’s beard onto his robe. Harmony in the Body of Christ is a magnificent thing! (Psalm 133, Ephesians 4:1-3)

Encouragement

We should be diligent to proclaim this mission statement in order for others to understand how we  approach this sports endeavor. We are hopeful that through these conversations and how we play the game, we would influence our children and others in  the values and principles of the Christian faith in all competitive and difficult life situations.

Financial Support

This ministry is faith based and will be supported by those of like Christian values.
